When you hear “Think Pink,” what do you think about? Flamingos? Lipstick? A rose?
Since 1985, October has been known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM). About 40,000 men and women die each year from this disease, and from inception, the goal of BCAM has been to promote mammography as the most efficient weapon in the fight against breast cancer and to raise money for a cure.
Many people wear pink throughout October to show support for the cause. This year, Aspen Cares introduced its own Think Pink initiative. Employees were encouraged to participate in breast cancer walks or other fund-raising or awareness activities including Pink Fridays at our offices in Arizona, Colorado, New York, and Canada.
