What Is National Criminal Justice Month?
National Criminal Justice Month began in March 2009, as designated by the U.S. Congress. “The purpose is to promote societal awareness regarding the causes and consequences of crime, as well as strategies for preventing and responding to crime,” according to the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS).
How Can You Participate in Celebrating Criminal Justice Month?
You can show your support by speaking with your local criminal justice officials to help organize a community event. You can also print flyers to put within your school, organization or company. Lastly, the most accessible: have direct conversations with your local law enforcement.
