Prepare for effective online teaching.

The Certificate in eLearning Pedagogy program prepares instructors to effectively teach online, understand the most current practices in the field of distance education, and implement the range of tools that impact student learning, classroom community, and instructor pedagogy. This is 21st-century professional development.

The program domains and goals focus on three key areas:

  • Developing expertise in the most current web-based educational tools
  • Designing high impact online lessons and assessments
  • Promoting and advocating for useful digital learning paradigms

The sequence of courses focuses on implementing best practices in delivering effective instruction for distance education students in fully online courses. Learn how to become an effective online instructor, how to design digital learning experiences that promote academic and social development, and how to cultivate high levels of student engagement.

This certificate program is designed to benefit educators at both the K-12 and college-level, regardless of discipline.

The eLearning Pedagogy Certificate is aligned with the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE-T) professional standards for teachers. This is a post-bac, graduate-level program, and it does not lead to any certification. For students interested in pursuing a Masters of Education with an emphasis in eLearning Pedagogy, these courses transfer into that MEd degree program.
