Academic Integrity Policy

Aspen University fosters a spirit of honesty and integrity.
Students at Aspen University are responsible for following
accepted standards of academic integrity. Distance learning
programs require a higher level of self-monitoring with
regard to academic integrity.
All students are required to sign a statement of academic
integrity as part of the enrollment process. Any work submitted
by a student must represent original work produced by that
student. All sources used must be documented through acceptable
scholarly references and citations, and the extent to which
the sources have been used must be apparent to the reader.
Students found guilty of academic dishonesty or plagiarism
will be liable for sanctions, which may include dismissal
from the University.
Drug and Alcohol Abuse Policy
Aspen University recognizes alcohol and/or drug dependencies
as illnesses, major health problems and potential safety
and security problems to the School. Aspen University is
committed to the maintenance of a drug free environment
for students, faculty and administration. All faculty, employees,
and students must abide by the terms of this policy.
Aspen University prohibits the unlawful manufacture, distribution,
dispensation, possession or use of controlled substances,
or being under the influence of illicit drugs at any work
site connected to the Institution or during any Institution-related
activity. Violation of this policy will result in disciplinary
action up to and including dismissal, expulsion and criminal
penalties.
Any student or employee who violates the provisions of
this policy may be required to participate in a substance
abuse education program or a rehabilitation program at his
or her expense. Voluntary efforts to seek help for a drug
or alcohol problem are encouraged and will not per se put
either the student or the employee in jeopardy, provided
that the individual seeks help prior to discovery.
For additional information please refer to The National
Institute on Drug Abuse Hotline, 1-800-662-HELP. This is
an information and referral line that directs callers to
treatment centers in the local community.
