VA and GI benefits - Aspen participates
in some benefits programs for eligible military personnel.
Aspen University also has discounts and payment plans specifically for military personnel and veterans as well.
DANTES
DANTES processes tuition assistance reimbursements for
active duty: Navy, Marine Corp, Army, Active Guard Reservists
(AGR), Army National Guard (ARNG military and civilian
personnel), U.S. Army Reserves (USAR), and Air Force Reserve
Command (AFRC) when they successfully complete a course.
Prospective students requesting tuition assistance under
this program must have a DANTES Form # 1562/31 (Independent
Study Form) signed by the students Educational Services
Specialist, or Guidance Counselor or commanding officer
certifying his/her eligibility.
You will need to supply to the above mentioned military
personnel a copy of the Aspen University catalog listing
the tuition cost and a list of the courses required for
the curriculum selected.

VETERANS (VA)
Aspen University is approved by the Colorado State
Approving Agency for Veteran's Benefits.
Most VA programs allow veterans ten (10) years from the
date of separation listed on the Military Discharge (DD214)
to use their Veterans Benefits, unless that veteran was
unable to attend due to a documented mental or physical
disability, or reentry into active duty.
To ensure that you have the correct information regarding
benefits, call (888) 442-4551. This VA toll free number
is the number for the department that can answer questions
on qualifying for the various entitlement categories.
All admissions requirements must be completed and the
VA recipient (veteran) must be a registered student at
Aspen University before he/she will be certified for VA
benefits. Payment of tuition and fees is a part of the
enrollment process and a student is not a registered student
until payment is received.

Chapter 30xxxxMontgomery G.I. Bill -- Active Duty
Entered active duty on or after July 1, 1985 and contributed
$100 a month the first twelve months and have a honorable
discharge

Chapter 32xxxxPost Vietnam Era Veterans Educational
Assistance Program
1. Veterans who entered active duty after January
1, 1977 and before July 1, 1985
2. Contributed funds to VEAP
3. Served for a continuous period of 181 days
Chapter 35xxxxSurvivors and Dependents Educational
Assistance Program
1. Sons, daughters, Spouses and surviving spouses
of veterans who perished or are totally disabled as the
result of a service connected wound arising from active
service, or who perished from the cause while such disability
existed
2. The child or spouse of a person who is on active duty
as a member of the Armed Forces and who for the period
of 90 days has been concerned as a POW, MIA, or otherwise
detained by a foreign government or power
Chapter 1606 xMontgomery GI Bill -- Selected Reserve
1. On or after July 1, 1985 enlisted, re-enlisted
or extended an enlistment of a selected reserve so that
the reservist has an obligation to serve for a period
of not less than six years following the date of such
action
2. Has completed the requirements for a secondary school
diploma
3. Has completed IDAT
Servicemen's Opportunity College
Aspen University is an approved Servicemen's Opportunity
College (SOC). Servicemen's Opportunity College is a network
of institutions across the country dedicated to responding
to the special needs of adult continuing education for
people in the armed forces.
While military service carries no equivalent college
credit, coursework earned in the military may result in
equivalent college credit with appropriate documentation.
