The eCreation Process

The eCreation process is a journey of professional growth.
As with any important journey, you must plot your course
carefully. You must find your starting and ending points
on the career map and identify the various ways to get from
here to there. Then you must choose the route that offers
the smoothest ride while meeting your schedule, fare, and
baggage requirements.
Aspen has assembled a series of eCreation tools to help
you identify your starting and ending points and some possible
routes.
The eCreation Survey is an anonymous survey that will help
you determine if you are likely to be successful in a distance
learning program and in an information technology, information
management, or business management career.
The survey is based on two bodies of research, one identifying
the correlation between personality type and career success,
and the other identifying attributes of successful distance
learners. (Bibliography)
The survey consists of two parts:

Your Work Preferences
A series of questions designed to help you get to
know yourself better. This survey divides people into
16 different categories, based on their answers to
simple questions. Descriptions of these 16 "temperament
types," as they are called, can be used to predict
how a person of each type will respond to various
situations. This classification has been tested on
many different populations since the 1950s, when it
was first developed. It has proven to be a reliable,
valid instrument for a variety of purposes, including
determining whether or not an individual will be satisfied
and successful in a particular career.

Your eStrategy Career
A series of questions designed to determine which
(if any) eStrategy track-that is, information technology,
information management, or management-is best suited
to you. Additional questions help you explore whether
or not distance learning is a good way for you to
gain the skills and knowledge you need to become an
eStrategist.

What You'll Know at the End
After completing the eCreation Survey you will have a better
understanding of yourself-your attitudes, values, actions,
and interactions-which will allow you not only to make an
appropriate career choice, but also to:
- Make sound choices in other areas
- Exploit your strengths and compensate for your weaknesses
-
Better understand others
The survey will also help you determine whether or not
an eStrategy career is well-suited to you, and if so, which
track (information technology, information management, or
management) you should focus on.
The Decisions, Decisions...
pages provide information on how to interpret your results
from the eCreation Survey within the context of an eStrategy
career and the educational programs offered by Aspen University.
After reviewing theses pages you should have a good idea
of what you want to study, how you want to study (that is,
in a distance learning or traditional classroom setting),
and whether or not Aspen University would be an appropriate
place for you to pursue your studies.
The folks at Aspen University wish you an exciting
and successful journey!
