military benefits
military payment options
At Aspen University, we appreciate the dedicated efforts of our men and women in the U.S. armed services. To express our gratitude, we are offering tuition discounts and additional savings for Graduate and Undergraduate programs.
NOTE: Students must provide a copy of their military ID or DD214 at the time of their application in order to qualify.
These savings are available to:
- Active Duty United States Military
- All Veterans of the United States Military
- Spouses of Active and Veteran military personnel
The following benefits are provided for military personnel and spouses:
- Tuition of $750 per course ($250 per credit) for both Undergraduate and Graduate students
- All textbooks included in cost
- No application fee, proctored exam fee, graduation fee, library fee or transfer credit evaluation fee
- If the military discounted course price is a benefit the student will receive that price
- If our published tuition price is lower, the student is charged the lower tuition price
NOTE: For students receiving military benefits, the cost of textbooks will be deducted from students’ refunds upon withdrawal from a course.
Aspen University is an approved Service members Opportunity College (SOC). SOC is a network of institutions across the country dedicated to responding to the special needs of adult continuing education for people in the armed forces. While military service carries no equivalent college credit, coursework earned in the military may result in equivalent college credit with appropriate documentation. For further information, contact the Registrar's Office.
Aspen University is approved by the Colorado State Approving Agency for Veteran's Benefits. Most VA programs allow veterans ten (10) years from the date of separation listed on the Military Discharge (DD214) to use their Veterans Benefits, unless that veteran was unable to attend due to a documented mental or physical disability, or reentry into active duty.
All admissions requirements must be completed and the VA recipient must be a registered student at Aspen University before he/she will be certified for VA benefits. Payment of tuition and fees is a part of the enrollment process and students are not considered a registered student until payment is received
NOTE: To ensure that you have the correct information regarding VA benefits, and make sure you qualify for the various entitlement categories, call the VA Department at (888) 442-4551.
DANTES processes tuition assistance reimbursements for active duty: Navy, Marine Corp, Army, Active Guard Reservists, Army National Guard, military and civilian personnel, U.S. Army Reserves and Air Force Reserve Command when they successfully complete a course. Prospective students requesting tuition assistance under this program must have a DANTES Form # 1562/31 (Independent Study Form) signed by the student’s Educational Services Specialist, Guidance Counselor or commanding officer certifying his/her eligibility.
NOTE: Students will need to supply to the above mentioned military personnel documentation of the Aspen University tuition cost and as well as a list of the courses required for the curriculum selected

- Students cannot order the textbooks by themselves (no refund will be given). Textbooks must be ordered by the University.
- Their textbooks will not be ordered until payment has been received and processed
- Because of the above point, it is important that students enroll 7-10 business days prior to the desired start date. This will allow enough time for payment to process and textbooks to be ordered and shipped.
- A confirmation email (including shipping information & estimated delivery time) will be emailed to the student once the payment has been received.
- If you have any questions please contact Tina Bear, tbear@aspen.edu
