Philip Duane Authier, a top nursing influencer, patient advocate and leadership mentor with over 35 years of professional experience,
will give the keynote address at the 2017 Aspen University ceremony at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 3, in Denver, Colorado at the Denver Center for Performing Arts.
Authier has previously served as a Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Hospital Administrator, and system Vice President. In addition to these operations roles, he possesses 12 years of experience providing consulting services in the areas of organizational culture, leadership development, process improvement, coaching, and effective communications. In his recent work as Vice President of Delivery for Banner Health, he mentored and developed CEO's, COO's, and CNO's across a 29-hospital system, working to improve processes, quality and outcomes.
Authier gained extensive experience directing operational, financial, regulatory and business improvements to clinical and nursing practices. He served as President of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), and he has been involved in the American Hospital Association, State Hospital Associations, and State Organization of Nurse Executives in Colorado, Michigan, and South Dakota. He is also a current member of the Center for Nursing Leadership.
Authier is a writer and national speaker on culture and the work environment, with additional emphasis on effective communications, innovation, sustainability, and work-life balance. He remains committed to giving back to both to his profession and to the communities in which he has lived and worked.
